EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

Committee scope is to:

  • Serve as an interim governing body between meetings of the Foundation's governing body;
  • Implement all directives and policies established by the governing body;
  • Make recommendations to the governing body on all matters pertaining to the advancement of the interests and welfare of the Foundation, volunteer members and Foundation staff.

DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

Committee scope is to:

  • Oversee the Foundation's finances by assisting the Executive Director and Treasurer to;
  • Prepare a recommended annual budget;
  • Submit a proposed budget to the Foundation's Board of Directors for approval;
  • Receive and review financial reports on expenditures and income;
  • Prepare and submit to the Board of Directors a periodic report and analysis of the finances of the Foundation;
  • Study and recommend the investment of surplus funds and advise on conditions of funds in trust; and,
  • Arrange for and review the annual external audit of the previous year's accounts.

NOMINATING COMMITTEE

Committee scope is to:

  • Coordinate the recruitment and nomination of potential candidates to the Board of Directors and its slate of officers; and,
  • To manage the members' terms to maintain relatively equal Board classes.

HOME SAFETY COMMITTEE

Committee scope is to:

  • Develop and recommend policy to the Foundation's Board relating to an effective, consistent and continuing public relations program;
  • Conduct research and undertake pilot projects to determine target markets for continuing education programs;
  • Develop and/or review all print, audio and video media materials to ensure understandability and consistency with Foundation policies;
  • Research and recommend funding methods for programs and projects; and,
  • Serve in a liaison capacity to other committees and/or subcommittees for matters relating to public relations and communications.
