As a Section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, the Electrical Safety Foundation International is funded by contributions. These contributions are deductible as charitable contributions to the full extent of by law.
ESFI contributors represent a broad spectrum of industries, including:
- Manufacturers
- Distributors
- Contractors
- Utilities
- Testing and Certification Bodies
- Peripheral Industries and Regulators
Your help is needed to ensure the Foundation continues to have an impact by making the world electrically safe. Contributions assist the Foundation in providing electrical education and awareness materials and programs.
We offer three types of contribution: Beacon Endowment pledge, contribution to regular annual giving fund, and web page sponsorship.
The Beacon Endowment Fund was established in a 1999 campaign to create an endowment, the interest of which would help fund ESFI programs. Thirty eight companies committed to a total of $3.6 million paid out over five years. To become an Beacon contributor, please call ESFI President Brett Brenner at 703-841-3296.
ESFI continues to rely on contributions given directly to the Foundation’s annual giving fund. These contributions are generally "one-time" contributions that do not commit an organization to give the same amount in following years, or at all, though most contributors are regular annual contributors. The money goes directly into the operating fund allowing the Foundation immediate access, rather than restricting the Foundation to interest proceeds only. This is the Foundation's primary source of funding each year. To become a contributor download the contribution statement, fill it out and send it in with your contribution.
About Web Page Sponsorship
Every day business owners, educators, journalists and citizens from around the globe come to ESFI's web site seeking electrical safety information. They want safety tips and brochures, statistics, technical information, lesson plans, interactive training materials and electrical safety news and links. ESFI's web site provides a no-cost source of information and a liaison to the electrical safety community for the home, school and workplace.
